Default Does the Book of Mormon have different "voices"?

Meaning that in the Book of Nephi, is the voice of the narrator different than Mormon, the redacter/editor, etc.?

My personal belief is that yes, the voices are different. I believe that there may even be empiric evidence of this, but that is not my point.

I guess I am wondering whether constructing a work of fiction in several voices is something that Joseph Smith could have reasonably done, given what we know of his life and later writings. And do any of the voices in the BoM fit with Joseph Smith's own voice?

There was a study of "wordprint" a number of years ago which should many, multiple "voices", not consistent with JS's.

As to the ability of somebody to mask his own voice I don't know, especially one as uneducated as JS.

For his detractors, who consider him a complete fraud, charlaton and moron, how do they believe he was able to mimic Middle Eastern artifacts within the BoM, revive gnosticism and create multiple voices within the BoM?

Some of their critiques appear beyond real.

Here's a link, wikipedia that it is.

Hard to tell. To me they all sound like early 17th Century English Lords.

With his head in his hat, by the way. Thanks to South Park for that ground breaking research.

The head in the hat story comes from David Whitmer, I believe, not from Oliver or Emma.

One of the three witnesses toward the end of his death gave us, "Joseph stared into a hat looking into a seer stone to reveal the Book of Mormon.

Southpark did an episode where JS is shown to be or related to have looked into the hat to reveal the BoM. I didn't see the episode so my knowledge of it is incomplete.
