Is a man allowed to have hard
nipples on this venue?
If so Brethren, count me in! The loss to Utah sucked hind titty, but I still believe that things are headed in the right direction.

You're allowed to have hard assets
no matter where they find themselves.
You're especially welcome.

Hard nipples are not only allowed..
hard nipples are encouraged here.
And there was absolotuely nothing wrong with the Utah/BYU game.

You're right
the game sucked as it has for the last four years. Thank goodness I didn't pay to be there.

It sucked for a variety of reasons
and it sucked more than any loss the past 4 years.
1.) BYU has the better team. Losing to your rival when you have the better team is horrendous. 2.) BYU had the momentum and the loss prevents BYU from getting a great deal of good press next pre-season. In football perception is reality because of the polls. If BYU beats the U and wins it's bowl game, it enters 2006 with immense momentum, a six game win streak and will be hovering on the top 25 similar to WYO this preseason. Bronco is getting huge publicity for his orchestrated turn around and Cougarboard is experiencing nocturnal emission during the day. Now some of the hype would be unwarranted, but it would have been a huge boon regardless. In the end the loss to the Utes does a great deal of damage to any chances BYU had to do anything national, I am not talking BCS busting but top 25, next season. Especially with a watered down OOC that will include 3 also rans from BCS conferneces. 3.) Despite the poor start, the Y put itself into position to win and pissed it away by only scoring 3 points on its final two drives when the offense had scored a TD on every other drive all half. 4.) The trolls are back and the only hope they go away is BYU beating the U in hoops in Provo.

byu has personnel deficiencies that come from a lack of physical talent. utah has deficiencies because of lack of experience. an experienced johnson and utah loses 1 maybe 2 games this year. regardless how experienced some of byus players are, they werent going to win more than 7 games this year. they just dont have the horses to compete week in week out at a high level. utah will and in part is experiencing this because of the debacle that is urban meyer recruiting, but im sure kw will sure up the defense and the offense has young enough playmakers to be solid over the next couple of years. |

BYU has piss poor DBs
and did not have the speed at LB to compensate. When two halves are so striking similar in one team dominating one half and the other dominating the other half it is tough to tell from just that game. Looking at the entire season, BYU was clearly more consistent.
Utah played about its best game IMO. It did not turn the ball over, but a big reason for that was that BYU has such poor DB play. I agree with you that the ceiling on Y football is not as high as many would like to believe, and regardless that the U one is higher, BYU had a better team this season. Regardless if it was due to innexperience or a dearth of talent due to Meyer recruiting woes, BYU should have won that game. But they did not.

I'll tell you what sucked the most: traveling from San Diego to Utah for the game; my ride from the game back to SLC were a couple who don't care much for football but were there to be social. They insisted on leaving at the end of regulation, to avoid traffic.
So while walking from the stadium to their car, I tried to determine by crowd noise what was happening. Saw the replay on channel 11 at midnight. |
