Default Birthday gifts

for me.

I received new Shimano bike shoes and a new Garmin running guage. Yeah!

Apparently my friends and family don't want me to get fat.

Hey, I can one-up you. I got cycling gear AND a Tinkerbell necklace (from the 7-year-old).

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday Arch. Apparently I need another birthday soon. Either that or else new friends, as all I got for my birthday was a Costco cake with a double layer of chocolate frosting. Hmmm.

I also recently came across a new pair of Shimano road bike shoes. I've only taken them on the trainer thus far, but I'm hoping to take them out on a good spin this weekend. So far, so good.

I also got a pair of Shimano Ultegra SPD pedals. But don't let the name fool you. They are nothing like MTB SPD pedals. They are more than anything in the LOOK Keo style, for half the price.

Mr. Goose, I find it helps to order one's own presents. The Sams Club cheesecake is an excellent choice as well, by the way. mmmm, cheesecake.

I ordered the Garmin and mentioned how my bike shoes were deteriorating, refusing to purchase new ones. Its funny how one suggests or buys one's best presents.

Happy birthday, buddy.

What are you going to do to celebrate? Run 20 miles?

I ran two hours this morning feeling like crap. I would like a bike tour as well, followed up with loads of sex, but none of that will happen. A good hard crit would be fun though. Tomorrow will be fun with lots of swimming and riding.

Instead I will deal loads of cranky clients or maybe some good ones, who knows. Thanks for the well wishes. This sounds crankier than I feel. It is good to be alive with another year to plan.

Speaking of which - What exactly is the Garmin running guage? Is it the wrist watch GPS unit? If so, very cool.
