yfanatico and Berry
I mentioned something on the board the other day about Berry being more likely to fumble...
Then yesterday I get a boardmail from yfanatico saying I don't know what I'm talking about. I respond by saying that Berry has fumbled a lot of snaps, and with that hitch he has, I'm constantly afraid of fumbled snaps. Another boardmail from yfanatico calling me ignorant, etc. So I did a quick search, and sure enough, yfanatico commenting on Berry's love life, etc. He's in tight with Berry. An offensive lineman, he says. Tight enough with Berry that he must feel Berry's hands have just the right fit pushing up against his balls as he hikes, I suspect. Beck's hands just don't work the same magic. (this will be my next reply to the next angry boardmail I get from yfanatico. My last one said that if he didn't want ignorant opinions then he ought not bother coming to CB). |

i will back what ohioblue is saying about berry. there is a large number of guys on the team who 'feel' for berry and his situation.
a lot of guys empathize with him and they have a lot of respect for him. the eastern illinois game is an example of this. when he got into the huddle he had guys laughing, smiling, etc....he has a calming influence and is way more one of the guys than beck is. a little info on your boy yfanatico mike.... y-fantic-o.... broken down means y-o, fanatic. its a group of 2-4 guys who post who are offensive linemen. one of them who posts is very berry friendly. |

I have no doubt that Berry might be superior in terms of personality, leadership etc.
But I have just have a hard time believing that he is heads and shoulders better than Beck. Not that I think that Beck is that good. I just think that Berry is mediocre, and this smacks of team politics. |

Who said Berry was any better?
I agree with you, this has nothing to do with talent. I myself personally think we never saw the best that Berry has to offer, except maybe a hint of it against Virginia. On the other hand, Beck is wildly inconsistent, but perhaps improving. Both of them are working hard, and Matt is fine with his role as backup and understands what will be asked of him should he have to step in.
I think that if some O-line players want to defend their QBs--regardless of which QB happens to be the starter--then that's a good thing. |

I'd be happy to see Berry get some PT. Unfortunately that means either a Beck injury or that we will need to be winning handily (not likely).

Re: yfanatico and Berry
al signs point to Berry being at least one of the players that use the yfanatico moniker. :|
