if one reads...
job 1: 6... 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. in the pre-existence would the lord not have been in heaven? if satan were to visit the lord, what extent is his banishment? continues in 8-12.... 8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my aservant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will bcurse thee to thy face. 12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy apower; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. it seems as if satan is receiving a commission from the lord to do what he is suppose to be doing in the first place...tempting job... another interesting passage found in the old testament.... Isaiah 45:7-8 7 That they may know from the rising sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord , and there is none else. 8 I form the light, and create the darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. so question, is satan fulfilling a calling created by the lord? if so is he fulfilling it because he is evil, or because its the opposition needed to create exaltation? another question, satan knows he is going to lose, why would he continuosly forge a losing battle? he knew from the very beginning that he would lose, why fight? |
