I suppose it turns on what you deem a real historian.

Were Plutarch, Thucydides and Herodotus real historians?

What about Josephus?

What about Maqtal al-Husayn, Al Tarikh wa al-Maghazi, Beyhaqi or Ibn Khaldun?

Or Livy, Tacitus or Suetonius?

Do none of these non-real historians rely upon belief, myth or tradition?
