US blew a fine chance to make a statement, instead is relegated to moral victory. That's highly unfortunate for soccer.

I agree with Mike. The US played with the best at a high level and that's a good thing.
Depth hurts the US team more than anything else. The starters can compete with any country, but when fresh legs are needed, the talent drops off too much.

Well we lost it, because Brazil has better players, better offense and is a overall a much better team, and the US simply played what it could but in the end it was not enough. But I take little solace in such moral "victories". We might not ever get into a FIFA final again and blew it.
