I hope AFA wins their first game
they are really on the bubble, and it will help the MWC if they get in.
I hope they have their heads screwed on straight. Of course, I still hope BYU beats AFA. |

I'm very angry and disappointed in AF the way they faded. I hope they lose the first round and don't get in. What they deserve. As for the NCAA, I always find myself rooting against all the MWC teams those rare occasions when the Utes aren't in or the Utes lose before another MWC team, especially if it's BYU who's playing. I'm not sure why but I can't help myself.

It's actually rational for Utah and BYU fans to root against one another always in much the same way that sibling rivalry is rational. Recent history demonstrates it's a zero sum game between the two. The same is true though less so for other MWC teams and Utah or BYU.
You probably gathered I'm pissed at AF for fading and ceding the championship to BYU. BYU got a huge schedule breack playing AF both times later in the season. AF always fades probably because it lacks athleticism, size and depth. BYU is overrated.

Utah on the other hand is overrated, even with their losing record.

don't tell SU this. It may cause him to stop talking about the Utes (I was going to say "watch the Utes" but then I remembered he hasn't seen a single game).

I see what you mean since only Utah sends players on missions anymore. I bet Utah Mormons are the only ones who would pass the honor code anymore. It's back to the old days which is not what I counted on when I said BYU will always be crappy because of missions and the honor code.

BYU fans are much more likely to root for Utah, than vice versa.
Again, because of the relatively low prevalence of little man syndrome among BYU fans. Basically, BYU is "Utah University" and the U is the "state" land-grant school (e.g. Utah State). The land-grant school always hates the University more than vice versa. |

http://www.deseretnews.com/dn/view/0...201247,00.html This couldn't happen at BYU. Real Ute fans don't like BYU because they're anti-Mormon.
