If he likes being around you when you are grumpy, that is a good sign. Remember, you are trying to be more open, more willing to be vulnerable, more willing to let your warts be seen and vice versa. Go. |

He actually did that for a lady, but it was a porcelain crown and it was for her cuspid. She wanted a little diamond inbedded in it, and then had my dad make it so that it would stick a little further out, so as to call some attention to it. He had another guy request an elk head on his tooth. So my dad made him a front tooth with the silhouette of an elk head on it. To each their own.

You can eat with a temporary crown, it won't be a problem.

Just don't eat sticky things like caramel with a temporary corwn. It also tends to be temperature sensitive, but otherwise is fine.
I have a gold crown and have had it for years. It is fine, but I much prefer the look of the porcelain. Recovery time (menaing loss of soreness and sensitivty) will vary depending upon the tooth and your tolerances.

btw, I had a root canal a couple years ago. It made me feel like one of those young people who broke a hip because of menopause. I felt like someone my age ought not be having root canals. But I survived (pocketbook took a hit, no dental insurance).
