Default this guy is awesome

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1...201262,00.html

The NBA has not responded to his emails and phone calls.

Bronco has said ok, but never set up a meeting.

LOL.

I'll agree with his comments about the over/under data on Donaghy appearing more damning that they may actually be.

For one, if Vegas' over/unders are right 50% of the time (and that may not be a valid assumption), there is no real statistical difference in being over 44% or 57% of the time. Protraying the change from 44% to 57% as some wild swing is a red herring, IMO.

I've done a little "consulting" for BYU before in basketball (NCAA seeding research for the Tournament Committee) and football. My pass efficiency research was passed on to Bronco and the findings were discussed in terms of setting the some of the many different metrics they use to measure their performance.

Ya, I agreed with that point is well (and I thought that stat was silly when I heard about it on the radio). But the article is pretty funny. It paints him as quite the statistical pimp.

You will get rich in Vegas winning 57% of the time. I wouldn't dismiss it that easy.

Well, winning 57% of the time is one thing, trying to prove that 57% in and of itself is the result of a consistent, deliberate attempt to fix games is another.

we already know from stats that NBA refs call racist technicals, I wouldn't be surprised if this were possible.

Yeah I wish they'd stop calling so many technicals on the token white guys.

That "study" was one of the biggest farces in statistical history.

Maybe he needs to run some analysis on the success/failure of his sales pitches.
