A traveling Elder in my mission was one of the guys who had to be transferred every other week because he was either:

a) so annoying that his companion would kill him if he had to be with him one day longer or

b) a trouble maker/seducer of the young women in the branch where he's serving.

"I served in ...."

"Where did you serve?"

How about, I went on my mission to Cheetoville.

The traveling Elders when I first hit the mission field were the ZL's. They were companions and traveled through their Zone.

In my mission they did away with the travelers as ZL's. A ZL would have his own area, but he would travel to other area's and work with an Elder sending the companion back to work with his companion in his area. As a ZL, I would just switch off with the DL's in my Zone. I left it up to the DL's to work with the regular Elders.

In case that wasn't clear, my main point is I was a ZL.

You've got my vote on this one.

It makes us sound like we live back in the 1800's.

While I don't disagree with the sentiment, it sure is nice only having to remebver a fmaily name and not having to worry about first names. Makes it much easier to look like you know everyone well.

That's why you should always say something like "How are you doing?", or "Good to see you!"

It's all in the tone you use. Fake it and they'll never know the difference.
