Default Looks like Thompson has peeled off . . .

. . . just enough of Huckabee's support to give McCain a clear advantage in South Carolina. Also, no post Michigan bump yet for Mitt.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

They say it takes until the 2nd day to see the bump, so we'll see what happens. I'm happy to have Thompson peel away from Huckabee's support, though. I could very easily support a Thompson candidacy, and I don't think McCain will survive the Republican primary process, no matter what happens in South Carolina.

That, or I have completely underestimated the influence of conservatives within the party.
