Default Florida Governor backs McCain

I think this thing is over now.

Sad that McCain turns to lying about Romney on Iraq. The straight talker doesn't talk so straight after all. He's just another politician afterall.

I'm not so sure it's over. I know Crist is popular, but are people really going to let his endorsement have such an effect on their decisions? It has to help McCain, but how much?

I just posted about McCain pulling a fast one on Romney regarding Iraq. He is totally distorting Romney's record. It is a desperate move by McCain to change the subject to Iraq because he is getting killed over the economy.

At this stage in the game, everyone is politicking. Getting mad at McCain is simply sour grapes.

I am not a McCain guy, but what he is doing is a great strategy.....brilliant, actually. He knows that if the battle ground is economy, he will get killed. He wants the battle ground to be the war in Iraq, where he likely has an advantage. McCain has basically fabricated an issue and has shifted the focus back to Iraq....and now he has the endorsement of a very popular governor of a crucial state.

Not sure what the net impact will be, but I can say with certainty a few things:

1. Mitt would have preferred to be endorsed, so it clearly is worth something
2. McCain has the mo right now. Nobody cares about Wyoming or Nevada today.
3. Mitt lied about the amnesty thing. They all do it. Getting upset about McCain's superior gamesmanship these past few days is pointless.

Right now, Mitt is getting his chess pieces taken away from him. He had better castle or else.

There's politiking and there's lying. What McCain is doing is very much like what Bill did to Obama (and they pulled the ad). Brilliant I suppose, but he likes to portray himself as the straight talker. He can't win on his merits, so he starts lying.

He'll have to lay in that bed he is making.

McCain has the mo? You could have fooled me. Not based on Romney's surge in the Florida polls he does not.

What amnesty thing?

It is a smart move by McCain. Romney needs to call him on it though, and move back to talking about the economy.

Not that bad, McCain 54 Romney 42. Crist's endorsement seems to be behind this. Moment of truth for Romney.
