Come now SU, you can't assert on the one hand that the LDS church doesn't actually have doctrine and on the other say it changed its doctrine, right? ;-)

I'm more of latter opinion. I don't go so far as saying that there is no doctrine, I just think that is very hard to put your finger on in many cases, leaving a vast gray area.

I also take the 9th article of faith to mean that just about anything could be changed.

I do give the church credit for changing this though, whatever the reason.
