I'm submitting an article to a British journal and need to be sure that standard English spellings are observed (except for -ize endings which can stay). I can think of colour, grey, and honour. Any other words I need to look for?

When ending a sentence in quotes, in England they prefer to have the period come after the quotation mark, not before.

orthopedics is probably not a word in your article, but just in case, those crazy Brits spell it orthopaedics.
Of course, there's also theatre, centre, etc. |

I think you can set your spell check to British English so it could do all the work for you.

Can't one set Microsloth Word (or other word processing program) for "British English" and do spell check, etc?? Be careful taking your zimmer and brolly on the lift to the tube. |

Although I fear it's going to take me hours to get it to apply. I'm a computer moron and Word 2007 is still a bit unfamiliar.

It's really easy, actually. Go to spell check on Word. At the bottom you will see a drop down menu that says dictionary language. Select English (UK).
