The Houston temple is larger than Lakewood (pics)
So take that Joel Osteen! Your church just looks like some old building where the Rockets used to play.
Church trivia: this was the last "full size" temple built before the decision to build all of the smaller temples. The landscaping was amongst the best I'd seen on temple grounds. Of the 30 or so temples I've seen, only Oakland had more. I don't know what "prominent member donated the land," but the street was lined with mansions and a golf course. This particular home directly across the street is listed on Zillow as 8,515 square feet, 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms: |

I'm really enjoying your tour 4ev. I've never seen any of these temples.

As am I. Your tour to see the temples on your way to Tennessee has been nice.

Looks like a plantation mansion with a spire to me.
Why does everything have to have a spire? The Provo temple would have been better off without a spire, or at a minimum they should have left the orange pillar if fire instead of painting it white. What's the point of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night if the pillar of fire is no longer orange. And then they had to go and put Moroni on top of the pillar of fire. What the crap? That architect must be rolling over in his grave. I feel bad for him, even though he (and I'm sure it's a he) deserves to be in architect hell. Last edited by SoonerCoug; 03-08-2008 at 06:59 AM. |
