Rank currrent NBA point guards
This is actually not an easy exercise. You have guys like Nash and Kidd that are slipping, and then you have some young guys that are coming on. Then you have Rafer Alston, who has erupted.

1. Chris Paul
2. Steve Nash 3. Allen Iverson 4. Deron Williams 5. Chauncey Billups 6. Tony Parker 7. Baron Davis 8. Jason Kidd If I were picking a pick up team, that's probably my order.

This is a hard excercise because am I looking for a point guard to start a franchise with, or am I looking for a point guard to win one game. So I will do it like this, if I had to win a title in the next 3 seasons who would I want as my point guard.
1. Chris Paul 2. Deron Williams 3. Steve Nash 4. Chauncey Billups 5. Baron Davis 6. Jason Kidd 7. Allen Iverson 8. Jose Calderon 9. Rafer Alston 10. Andre Miller 11. Gilbert Arenas (higher if healthy) 12. Devin Harris 13. Leandro Barbosa 14. Mo Williams 15. Rajon Rondo 16. Jordan Farmar 17. Mike Bibby 18. Antonio Daniels 19. Beno Udrih 20. Jameer Nelson

I would rank it this way:
1. Steve Nash 2. Chris Paul 3. Deron Williams 4. Chauncey Billups 5. Tony Parker 6. Jason Kidd 7. Andre Miller 8. Gilbert Arenas Steve Nash is still too fabulous to not have at the top...but with that said, if I am looking for a point guard for the next 5 years, then he drops quite a bit.

Sheesh Mike, Rafer is a decent enough point guard, but I can think of about 20 other point guards I would take above him. He makes Jason Kidd look like a freakin' sharp shooter. He is an average passer at best as well. I will check his numbers in a little while, but I would be shocked if he shoots better than 40% from the field and I know that he has never gotten close to sniffing 10 assists a game...probably never even close to 8 assists a game.
