It was his 2nd in the last month or so.

I was unaware of any problem between he and the Bears, but I guess this isn't the first time he's done something that the team wasn't happy with.

Two quotes from the article that stood out to me that set me off. First, this from his attorney:

"He's probably in trouble with his team for breaking curfew and having anything to drink under the circumstances."

Hey, weasel - how about the danger he causes society when he drives drunk?

And then this gem from the head coach:

Coach Lovie Smith said he was inclined to give Benson the benefit of the doubt "like everyone else in society gets."

"That's what we'll do with this thing," Smith said

Excuse me?!? Everyone else gets the benefit of the doubt? What? Pro athletes do all kinds of unacceptable crap and get away with it or don't have to deal with it until later if they commit a crime during the season of the sport they play.

I say throw the book at Benson. 2 DUIs in a month tells me that he is problematic and dangerous.

Several weeks ago, ESPN reported that Rickey Williams turned down an invitation to go boating with Benson. When Rickey Williams turns you down, you know you've got problems.
