My take on Satan, back in the days I believed in him:

I don't think that 'Satan's plan' was to force everybody to be good. Life is all about free agency. Satan simply didn't want us to be held accountable for our choices. You could choose to be good or evil, and it wouldn't matter in the long run, because you would be saved. That is the kind of 'plan' that I think would appeal to a lot of people... 1/3rd of the hosts of heaven?
