If you are right Tex, then she is handling it about as poorly as possible. If she didn't want to play the game, she could have said "I don't want to play that game. Are you trying to suggest I don't read or that I am uninformed? I assure you I stay up to date with local, national and international news and I draw my information from whatever sources seem best suited to provide it on any given issue."

You may be right, but it sure doesn't look like it.

I'm not saying, by the way, that I like how she's handled it. Dealing with a hostile media is part of the job, particularly if you're a Republican, and she needs to learn how to handle it.

But I no longer believe the report that she couldn't name another Supreme Court case, anymore than I believe she doesn't read.
This is funny stuff.

If she considers a creampuff question like this to be "hostile", then she is in deep caca if they ever take her out of hiding and let her interact freely with the press and the public. What a train wreck.

correctamundo, Fonz.

If she really were "Sarah Barracuda," she would have taken Katie Couric, perhaps the world's most annoying journalist, to task.

Your answer would have been classic....it serves multiple purposes

1. Tells Katie...."listen, if you want to be a b...I can be a bigger one"
2. Tells Katie..."if you are going to try to make me look dumb, I will make you look worse"
3. Also attempts to answer the question on its face by at least acknowledging the underlying but obvious implication....Couric is basically telling Palin, "look, America thinks you are dumb. Can you please speak to that?"

I wish she would've responded as you suggest.

There is nothing to the "Sara Barracuda" stuff other than word play and rhyme.

The Wilson sisters, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, and Patty Smyth would take Palin to the woodshed.

I'd even take Belinda Carlisle over Palin in a cage match.

Your reading comprehension is no better than hers.
