Default New Smith biography focusing on Nauvoo polygamy

I skimmed some of the comments. It's like SU posted 35 times.

And I think this is where some Mormons get a little skittish with "accurate" history--it will merely be the fodder for people who hate Mormons.

It would be a tough thing to write something and have thousands of SUs jumping up and down with glee. At least for some historians.

Aside from the Anti's jumping up and down with joy... the possible 'harm' would be that members of the church who read the book would feel some kind of betrayal. IMO, it is very childish to get bent out of shape over the less-than-favorable aspects of church history and then start a ruckus of anti-Mormon rantings that promulgate the pandemic of misunderstanding. If anything, the LDS church and the other Restorationist sects need to own up to history as it happened based on documentation from the time and take responsibility for it and hold our fore-fathers responsible for any good or damage done. On the other hand, all the Boyd Packer's in leadership positions out there will start kicking and screaming and tossing excommunications and disfellowships in every possible direction to get scholars to shut up.

You don't know me very well, do you. I'm way way past this. Who cares.
