Haiti fails because the people of Haiti fail themselves.

How does a society that is corrupt from top to bottom reinvent itself?

I'm not sure. Somehow they will have to come together and agree to make changes, and have some personal integrity. Benefit the greater good.

That is why responsible citizenship that is concerned with the greater good is the bedrock of American freedom and prosperity. As it slips, so will America. Or rather, "so has America."
