Default Severe Back Pain

Who has had to deal with severe back spasms but yet have no choice to keep on moving and working?

My upper back just between my shoulder blades on down several inches has been spasming very bad over the past couple of weeks. The Doctor has given me the lightest dosage of a pain killer and muscle relaxer there is, and neither of them phase it.

I know many men suffer from back problems, but the spasming is just driving me bonkers. I have a heating pad at night for my back, but I'm at the mercy of the Guard for suggestions of those who've suffered from back spasms and pain.

I've never had back spasms, but I have had lower back pain in the past. Fairly mild overall. From doing stupid things like jumping down stairs and off buildings, I think. Anyway, back exercises really helped me. Strengthened the muscles in my back.

I do some back exercises, but probably need to do more. I've got a herniated disc in my lower back and from my last car accident in March where I got rear-ended and knocked out, that's exacerbated the problem.

I think I should sue everyone.

Your pain is kind of high up there, but for lots of back pain, abdominal exercises can really help. Sometimes larger, more powerful back muscles overcompensate for weaker abs. Pilates type, core exercises is what I would do before strengthening your back muscles.
