Map of sex offenders in your area
You can enter your address and see how many sex offenders are in your area:
http://www11.familywatchdog.us/Search.asp Something I wonder about: after looking at my neck of the woods in San Diego, I entered my friend's address in the Sugarhouse area of SLC, and was surprised to see more dots on the map there. - So are there more sex offenders in SLC than San Diego? - Or are Salt Lakers more active at reporting sex crimes? - Or do the people in the two cities have a different idea of what is a sex crime and what is not? In other words, what SoCal people consider to be consensual, is what Salt Lakers consider heathen? |

It could simply be that the threshold requirements for making the location of sex offenders publicly available are lower in Utah than in California (which I think is true).

Mike looked up the sex offender registry in our neighborhood awhile ago-- we have an offender living a couple doors down from us, convicted of sexual assault of a 7 year old girl. He is married and very friendly.
I've heard other people talk about this-- they are surprised at the number and proximity of sex offenders in their area. |

not all two sex offenders are created equal
one person registered here was convicted of exposing himself in a casinod. He is now a registered sex offender seventeen years later.
