A rankings thread on best bands
http://www.avrev.com/bands/
I like the first choices, but I was appalled to find the BeeGees ahead of the Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys and the Guess Who.

I also got to sue Mike Love for failing to make good on a guarantee to a bank loan. He was a mensch about it though.

I guess you didn't get him to autograph a 45?

No but we had an autograph off of a guarantee.
The judge who was a oldtime rocker gave us, the bank a Pyrrhic victory. We won the battle but lost the war. He found Mike liable but held the "greedy" bank to the valuation used to refinance the property as a measure of whether a deficiency existed. Because banks always or almost always use inflated valuations to justify new loans or refis, we were screwed when we claimed it wasn't representative. Hence, even though a deficiency existed we were shut out in claiming we suffered one.

I'm a list junkie, so I dig this kind of stuff.
My favorite bands have changed a lot over time. If I took a composite of my life it would go something like the following (though at any one time it would look much different) 1. U2 2. The Police 3. Rolling Stones 4. Depeche Mode 5. Zeppelin 6. Floyd 7. Beatles 8. Coldplay 9. Metallica 10. Boston As I look at the list, I think they gave too much merit to "technical ability" and not enough to "songs". |

I don't mind Coldplay, in fact they have some mesmerizing stuff, but they also sound like a doped up slowed down version of U2 in a lot of their songs.
