Thanks for the reminder. I need to contribute more than I have.

This recording typifies recordings of masterworks by the mormon tabernacle choir and friends. It is, as usual, technically ok, and rather on the bland side. The diction, while sometimes clear, frequently features overprominent stress of consonants; a typical feature of amateur choirs.

What do you have to say about the overstressing of consonants as opposed to vowels? I hadn't heard that technical criticism before.

My personal opinion is that they should have made downtown slc into the MTC and used the MTC in provo to expand byu. Then the money they saved they should open up BYU brazil and not charge tuition
BYU Brazil and Mexico are very good ideas IMO ... I also believe they should build a BYU Africa, actually I imagine it happening first.

I think the best argument is this: why was the BYU men's chorus superior to Motab?

And please don't tell me it is because they don't have women (as they are saying on cougarboard).

gripping review, I know. Kind of like the film reviewer that bags on your favorite blockbuster summer 2007 film.

Neither did I and my college was paid by the American taxpayers, however I firmly believe that the Book of Mormon makes it clear that those of us blessed with the material success so prevalent on the North American Continent have a moral obligation to share that wealth.

I think the PEF is a wise method of sharing that wealth in a way that lifts others out of the abject poverty so prevalent in their native lands.

i don't get into the motab either. once you've heard a song or two, you've basically heard it all. And our hymn selection is a lot to do with it. very boring stuff.
i'd be much more inspired with some pipe-breaking bach on the organ instead of the choir.
they ought to use that organ how it was mean to be played.
