Rumors, false
An inactive member who is friends with my dad knew someone who knew someone that said that Packer said that they brethren wouldn't be teaching about food storage anymore because the Saints do not listen.
There goes that theory. But back to food storage. A disruption in food availability is not far-fetched. Grocery stores have to be restocked. What if there is a huge deadly flu pandemic? People will stop going to work. Going to the grocery store, if anything is there, could be a death sentence. A huge disruption in oil and gas, leading to a shortage, could have the same affect. Shelves not restocked. Those that forego food storage because they don't like the clutter may pay a high price one day. Esp ones that live in urban Seattle. |

I was "stuck" (parentheses because I didn't want to leave) in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for three days over Thanksgiving last year due to a nasty storm that wiped out the road and killed the power. No traffic on or off the island. Three days isn't that long, but we rarely have more than minimal food laying around that can be prepared without electricity, and no stores were open due to the power outage.
