Questions about downloading mp3s...
I've heard about several sites where one can purchase mp3s and download them, but have never done it. I'm assuming that you buy them with a credit card. I know that it is safe to do so, as I've shopped for other items with a card and those sites are secure.
My questions are: Is there any particular site that is better than others? How about security? Are there any sites from which you can pay via PayPal? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

All I've ever used (that is to say all I've ever used since deciding that breaking (poorly written) copyright laws was wrong and deleting everything I ever pulled off of Napster) is iTunes. FWIW, they have a good selection that includes a lot of very small label indie acts and their DRM stuff isn't too crippling (i.e., you can use downloaded songs on 5 different machines simultaneously and burn and rip infinite CDs).
Some audiophiles complain that they can hear compression artifacts in iTunes downloads, but I haven't noticed. I'm guessing these might be the same people who "can hear a big difference" when they use Monster audio cables. o
