We know more about you than you'd expect. I see a neophyte who's acquired a big vocabulary and the penchant for insults. You're younger than forty, which is the age when wisdom starts.

NOW you tell me I have to wait for forty. Is there some way I can speed this up? I'm pretty short on wisdom. Or maybe devoid is the proper descriptor.

You don't share it only as a matter of convenience. You have summarily undermined your position and opinion, and therefore have lost any credibility you may have previously earned. To suggest an argument should stand on it's own merits without appeal to authority is a red herring.

That's when wisdom starts, it doesn't accumulate in any measure until about sixty. Believe me or not, the thirties are the blissful years when the eyes are just beginnign to awake. The forties gives one a full spanking.

Publishing as an op-ed one's well-reasoned opinion, based upon professional training and expertise, in a reputable newspaper is a figurative "F*** - You"? Differing only by degree? I suppose, in the same way my microwave oven is pretty much the same as the sun, differing only by degree.

I don't really care if he deserved to get fired or not, since the BY can do whatever it wants. My objection was the tacit understanding that the LDS church had a certain [officially unofficial] stance on the gay marriage issue, while pretending it didn't (for legal purposes, I suppose).

Btw, I used the fact that BYU had procduced a play about Helmuth Huebner, and that BYU had produced a documentary about him, to buttress my claim that the church approves of violating the law in support of human rights. During my lesson to the YM, attended by bishopric and former stake president counselor.

When the law is legalistic, you act legalisticly.

They used up their political capital and have it no more.

I only want to make the distinction that he was NOT fired for his opinion, but for his decision to attack publicly the sponsor of his employer. I maintain he could have maintained his position if he had stated his opinion less antagonistically.
