Sometimes I wonder why I don't drop out of law school and appraise real estate full-time. Over President's Day weekend I made $2200 in 4 days, and during the Christmas break I made $5300 in 10 days. In a nutshell that is over six figures a year working full-time, which is more than most first year attorneys make.

I'll tell you why...because every homeowner in the world thinks their house is the Taj Mahal, and you should appraise it accordingly. It's 1:45 on Friday afternoon, and I've already had 3 arguments about values today. One with a homeowner and two with real estate agents, who by the way, may be the dumbest group of people ever (no offense to any realtors here ).

The money is good, though, which is why I still do it. I quit college during my junior year to come down to Utah and appraise with my bro. in law. I really can't imagine that I would be making any more money had I stayed and finished up the degree. Sometimes I look at 5 houses a day, and I make $225 on each one. It's a good living.

I don't understand the concept of receiving money. I only know about giving money.
