That question doesn't make sense. Iran only matters in terms of oil. Most third world nations only produce natural resources and sometimes cheap labor.

Europe, parts of Asia, US and Canada provide techology and important aspects of tech and industrial manufacturing.

I haven't reviewed metalurgical reports recently, but to the best of my recollection, most important metals are found in North America, parts of Russia, Africa, South America and bits in Australia. The Middle East provides oil and most of the world's terror. But for oil, the world wouldn't need the Middle East because we can do without terror, hatred and animosity.
