I guess that is not surprising though. You and Tex are both capable of being ignoramus's. Especially when talking with one another. |

Tex's comment could have been more accurately worded, but I took it to be a crticism of illegal immigration becaseu there is no screening. IOW, if we make legal immigration easier and faster and make illegal immigration more difficult, it will be easier for us to keep persons with criminal histories out of the country.
Of course, if you want to look for rascism, I suppose you can find it there, but I didn't see it as being intended.

What I meant by the comment was: we have enough home-grown murderers already. We don't need to import anymore via illegal immigration, regardless of their race. Put more simply: were our immigration policies better written and better enforced, the good people would get in and the bad people wouldn't.
I'm not surprised that SeattleUte read the post and saw racism, but I expect more from some of the rest of you. |

Or when I said that how good a movie is September Dawn, not how factual it is, is the most important question for Mormons concerned about its impact? Or when I said how much sense does it make that the Saints who actually killed the pioneers did so on their own initiative given Mormons' respect for chain of command and Brigham Young's stature and visibility in that young Mormon community? How is any of the foregoing remotely analogous to Tex's post saying "I don't want no Mexican mass murderers to immigrate?"

You are one of the few people on this board who could object to the desire to prohibit murderers from illegally entering the country.

It is more of a curiousity thing than a worry thing. Since it is pretty well established you are more conservative than I, I think we can agree it is in your nature to worry more about what people are thinking or doing than I am.
