It's because they're kids. Haven't you ever been to an over-the-top youth testimony meeting? These are kids who are just learning about testimonies and prayer and things like that, and because they're teenagers, everything is sooooooooo dramatic. They haven't had the life experience that helps them to differentiate between the spiritual part of their life and the secular part of their life (or to become jaded, depending on your perspective).

It's all new and dramatic to them, and that comes across in what they say.

I think this enthusiasm is also one of the reasons why we send missionaries out at that age (or maybe one of the reasons why that strategy works).

I agree with you on this. I just wish TBS would recognize that fact as well and maybe tone it down just a tad.
