I will lose all confidence if Martineau still has a scholarship next year.
Nick can't shoot, can't dribble, rebound, play defense or make steals. Other than those basketball skills he's a veritable Michael Jordan. I'd rather you started Mike rather than Nick. Nick could not start for my high school, and whoever thought Nick should play D1 basketball must have been on Roger Reid's payroll.

Yeah, but he looks like Colin Farrell. That's got to be worth something on the hardcourts. Maybe it distracts the gay guys on the Utah team.

Mike Rhyner mentioned Fredette tonight on 1310 The Ticket in Dallas. Perhaps the most influential sports radio station in the country. One legend (in radio) voicing praise to a future legend.

My Ute friend who I play ball with, tonight, pretended not to know anything about the game. "Oh really, BYU and Utah played?"
The funny thing is that when the average fan hears "Jimmer dropped 47 on Utah", the "on Utah" adds legitimacy to the whole thing. A respectable program. It's not like Jimmer dropped nearly half a hundy on Colorado School of Mines. But the average fan does not know how bad Utah is, how utterly miserable they are in fundamental things like chest passes and bounce passes and dribbling. Thanks Utah, for helping Jimmer out. For helping set tongues wagging all across the country. Let's call it a parting gift. |

Think he'll be drafted higher than Araujo?
Honest question (I really don't know), after Danny Ainge, who is BYU's second most successful NBA player? Shawn Bradley? |

I would be surprised if Jimmer were to be a 1st round pick. But I get the feeling his stock is rising, so who knows. The pre-draft workouts are going to be a huge deal for him.
Honestly, I don't know who would be considered BYU's 2nd best NBA player. Fred Roberts? |

BYU never had a bunch of NBA talent.
I'm guessing Fredette is hovering between the low end of the 1st round or upper 2d round. I hope he gets to play, as I enjoy his demeanor and his style of play. Fred Roberts might be a good choice. Greg Kite was terrible in the NBA but he stayed around for a while. Cosic would have been NBA worthy but he chose to return to Yugoslavia. That he died so young is also tragic.

Is it crazy to think that Emery could make an NBA squad?
The kid is very athletic--very quick, great defender. Beautiful stroke. He's 6'3", so definitely on the small side for a shooting guard in the NBA. But that still makes him taller than Jason Terry on the Mavs. Why could Emery be an outside-shooting jump-shot specialist? Certainly he would be just as good a defender as Terry. The more I think about it, the less crazy it is. I don't think there is anyway he gets drafted, and thus the odds are long, and maybe he goes D-league or something, but I don't think this is crazy talk. |

Jax would have to hit just right because I doubt he's on anybody's radar right now. My guess is that he goes to Europe if he is interested in playing ball for a living.
