You cannot get Southern BBQ in Utah IMO. Close, but no cigar.

I used to be a culture snob, now I'm a BBQ snob. Further evidence of my great crossover appeal.

Jeff's in Florida.

You are correct though. There really isn't any southern BBQ in Utah.

Of course, there is no Grove's Market in Texas. So take that.

I can't let this go on any longer without saying that if you haven't had Eastern NC vinegar-based barbecue (pulled pork), your opinion is of no consequence. If you have had it and side with some other variety, such as Texas, Tennessee, or SC, your opinion is, again, of no value.

Corky's is closest to us, so I usually go there, and I like it. Given that Corky's has gone a little commercial, a lot of folks here are down on it a bit. The Commisary in Germantown is very good. I haven't gone to the Rendevous yet. It's downtown and I don't get down there all that much.

I have heard the pulled pork is very good. We also do vinegar based BBQ here in Texas. As a matter of fact, what sets Texas apart is that while we do BBQ pork as good as anyone else, we do a bigger variety of meats (beef, sausage, pork, poultry, heck I've heard of smoked Prime Rib). Regardless, you cant go wrong with BBQ in the South, whether it be North Carolina, Tennessee or Texas. Memphis though may be the BBQ capital. And Kansas City is supposed to have phenomenal BBQ sauces. Louisianna, actually is not know to have good BBQ, believe it or not, and Mississippi and Alabama just have some incredible venues like Dreamland Ribs.

I've been to all three and think they are great. The sausage, cheese and peppers plate from The Commisary is an arteries' dream.
