No way you could rank The Holy Grail behind Temple of Doom.

I hope you went to see The Cure. I was unable to see them here in SLC on Thursday as that was the same night our oldest had her 9th grade promotion exercises. I'd rather have seen Robert and the boys.

It was mediocre but entertaining...
Crystal Skull is by no means a work of art. The ending with the aliens was ridiculous even for an Indiana Jones movie, and the line, "Knowledge was their treasure" made me want to barf.
But, it was at least mildly entertaining. I don't think it's on par with the Last Crusade. Anybody going in with... any expectations will be disappointed. Only go if you care to zone out in a dark theatre for $8.50. No higher mental functions required. |

Better than Doom, worse than Raiders and Last Crusade, IMO.

This just in.....my wife is rad. After my brother and my mom confirmed that Indiana Jones was a complete waste of time, my wife agreed to see The Cure. We drove up to the Bowl, bought a pair of tickets for under face (the opening act was already onstage...they were called 65daysofstatic and I didnt care if we missed them) and enjoyed an amazing show. It was LONG. Over 3 hours. But if you are a fan of the Cure, holy crap. What a fantastic setlist.
The 5 songs to close the show was worth the entire wait, although as you can see, they pulled stuff ranging from 3 Imaginary Boys to Pornography to Disintegration. I was worried they would be heavily tilted towards their new, bad stuff. Again, for fans of The Cure, they did the extended opening to A Forest...the one on 17 Seconds...very menacing. We got home at about 1AM and now I am very sleepy. Simply Elegant! 1 Plainsong 2 Prayers for Rain 3 A Strange Day 4 alt.end 5 The Walk 6 The End of the World 7 Lovesong 8 To Wish Impossible Things 9 Pictures of You 10 Lullaby 11 The Perfect Boy 12 From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea 13 Hot Hot Hot 14 The Only One 15 Push 16 Friday I'm in Love 17 In Between Days 18 Just Like Heaven 19 Primary 20 Shake Dog Shake 21 Never Enough 22 Wrong Number 23 One Hundred Years 24 Disintegration First Encore 25 At Night 26 M 27 Play for Today 28 A Forest Second Encore 29 Some sort of instrumental 30 Lovecats 31 Let's Go to Bed 32 Freakshow 33 Close to Me 34 Why Can't I Be You Third Encore 35 Boys Don't Cry 36 Jumping Someone Else's Train 37 Grinding Halt 38 10:15 Saturday Night 39 Killing an Arab

I loved this movie, if only for the simple fact that it answered the age old question: Is Cate Blanchett sexy? Though I wouldn't put her in the same class as Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me, she filled the role of sexy Godless commie villain in with an aplomb not seen since Bridgette Nielson's Ludmilla Drago.
A slight disclaimer: I viewed Indy IV immediately after sitting through the Sex and the City movie so I can't vouch for my objectivity. (Spoiler: Sara Jessica Parker has not aged well, Chris "Mr. Big" Noth is still to die for and the girls drank Cosmos while discussing their man troubles.)

Robert Smith is also no Julio Iglesias or Billy Ray Cyrus, either. Mick Jagger may run around a lot in tight stretch pants, which can be exciting for some demographics, but I prefer the music to the stage show. If I want to see an over-the-top stage show with gimmicks, flashing lights, and video screens, I go see U2.
