It has never happened; it was just coincidence that missionaries in my mission were told to stop doing this exact thing, in addition to an immediate moratorium on standing in front of the Assembly of God MTC on Maui to "Golden question" the missionaries there. I'm sure my mission is the only one in the history of the LDS church.

Had you had the benefit of serving a mission you would know that missionaries spend large amonts of their time bored and seeking out confrontation during a "unproductive outing" is a fun way to kill a few hours.

As for the personal attack......ah what can I say. I just don't understand why this makes you so mad. I believe in God not religion. I am not on Aarons side. I just don't see the difference between Aaron Shaff and Mormons spreading there beliefs. You can say that Mormons build on others beliefs but that is not honest. The church teaches that it is the only true church and all others are false. This is tearing down anothers religion in the worst way possible.

I don't know that I have a problem with it, but it seems like an awful waste of time. I remember standing in line outside Temple Square for General Conference years ago, and some folks were passing out fliers with pictures of the First Presidency. They had hand drawn horns on (then) 1st Counselor Hinckley's head, and written "666" on Monson's forehead. And they were passing these fliers out to people waiting hours and hours in line just to see these guys.

I probably served long before you. And I know what's efficient and what was not. In foreign language missions, people don't have the time or energy to battle against those converted to another matter. [perhaps lazy missionaries in English language missions guys screw around, how the hell should I know or care]. If an MP is dumb enough to have his missionaries sit around bible bashing, then he should take a flying leap.

They talk about the nature of God, a vision, ask for baptism, but other than the words of the First Vision, they are NOT instructed to tell you how others are wrong, but how LDS are more correct.

You can spin however the hell you like, but it's nothing but bullshit. I don't give flying f.. about evangelicals, and much prefer the intellectuals, but baldfaced prevarications rankle me.

Now if missionaries deviate from the plan, then to hell with them.
