I have had had flights completely obliterated because of layovers in Dallas.....an ice storm comes through and I am grounded for hours.
How do those compare to the ones in OK? From the safety of a terminal, ice storms are really a sight to behold.

I would say the ice storms we get here are similar to the "normal" ones in OK, having lived in both places. But from the sounds of things, this one is anything but normal.

As for class discrimination, I think you'll find that neighborhoods with underground power service come up earlier because there are fewer breaks and they fix the lines that get the most people power the quickest. As for these being the wealthiest neighborhoods, I don't think so. Underground service is mostly in newer neighborhoods, yes. |

incidentally, if you're keeping score, the Bank of Beverly Hills is open, the lights are on, all available rooms are taken by refugees, and we are in need of a chain saw.

- This is one hell of a storm. Fortunately(?), we actually lost nearly all our trees in the flood over the summer, so we don't have much to clean up. My older boy goes to the only school in the district still without power, so he's been home all week. Other than that we're back to normal. Thanks for the post on my behalf, Sooner. Regarding your question, we girls stick together and the ladies were kind enough to check on me. Hope you and SoonerUte get your power back soon!
