I'm unfamiliar with the levels of Dante's Hell. Are they progressively more evil? Or are equal but different?

The only one you really wish to be in is Purgatory, because you can progress to Paradise.

Well, to say there are nine doesn't exactly represent the work.

But the idea is, Dante envisioned different types of eternal suffering for different types of sins.

I believe lust, for example, is a turbulent windstorm.
