As I recall, the Lafferty brothers were involved deeply in the Dream Mine and held many of their meetings on the property.

I have been shot at near the dream mine by some old guy that is the "keeper of the gate" We use to ride horses and 4 wheelers up there all the time. Not sure if he shot at us or just up in the air but we always used ot try and break in.

The first I heard of the Dream Mine was during the 7-8 hours of my life I wish I had back when I read "Under the Banner of Heaven."

I grew up about half a mile from the Dream Mine. I went up there to collect fast offerings all of the time since the Dream Miners were in our ward.
Interestingly for those that are follow church intellectuals, Avraham Gileadi the Isaiah scholar and his family lived in the little set of homes around the mine and were, at one point believers. Also Bishop Koyle's(the founder of the mine and the dreamer) grandson was my bus driver in elementary school. Last edited by Detroitdad; 12-31-2007 at 02:58 AM. |
