Brilliant! Teach the kids how to play team sports. It'll do them a helluva lot more than learning how to tie the sheep shank.

Any scout could tell you that it's one word - sheepshank.

See, I was an eagle scout and can't even remember how to spell it, much less tie it. My time would have been better spent learning the nuances of the Princeton offense.

Fair enough. I was an eagle scout as well, but never could tie one. I did know how to stitch a baseball and retie a ball glove.

This is the most bad-ass mormon of the past 100 years.

Too bad his UFC participation caused an uproar at the BYU.

Wasn't it title IX that did him in as mens wrestling coach.

Yeah - that and it was a fiscal decision - even though the wrestling team raised a bunch of money to secure an endowment. They brought in Iowa for a dual at the Delta Center (I remember seeing Dan Gable there and for about .2 seconds considering a sneak-attack. I would have died knowing I took down Dan Gable), but in the end the wrestling team and men's gymnastics were cut.

I was alluding to the uproar in the BYU's student newspaper that the men's wrestling coach was engaging in such a barbaric sport as UFC.
