we will go towards Japan and Europe. More common for families to have one car. The car is a subcompact, sometimes smaller than a Geo Metro, and gets high gas mileage. Diesels will become much more common.

Cities will become less sprawling and more compact. Public transportation will be vital.

won't matter. we can't catch up to this train in the long run. Imagine if people in Africa started having cars in numbers close to the USA.

There was a new oil field discovered in Central Utah (by Richfield) a couple of years ago. They said it was the largest new find in the 48 states in many years. But they said it would supply the US for 40 days. I read the other day that Anwar would supply the US for three months. (both cases assuming that it was the sole source).

I thought I read recently that a large amount (200 billion gallons) was found in North Dakota. Also, Brazil has apparently discovered oil as well that, according to its president would "change the global face of the oil market." But I can't remember where I read either of those things.

Perhaps the Camry and Civic hybrids will eventually see a higher sale tag than a Land Rover?

Potato market is going through the roof. Trucks are tight and costly so I can't get anything hauled even if I can find the product. I'm going to have some mad Italian named Joey throwing about a 1000 f-bombs at me shortly because his customers are out of spuds. I just had a load rejected in Kansas City for something called Silver Scruf. So far it's been a shitty day.
