The doctrine, as termed by and taught by Stephen Robinson in my NT class at BYU, is Christian Liberty. The idea being that all commandments are only guidelines and good is what God says is good. The classic example being Moses bring down the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" and then Nephi being constrained by the same Spirit that led him knowing not beforehand what he should do to decapitate the drunk and passed out Laban.

A modern example, sure to horrify your High Priests, is BYU's rule "NO BOYS ALLOWED IN DESERET TOWER'S GIRL'S BEDROOMS" and the violation when the home teachers go to give a blessing to a girl having a seizure while waiting for the ambulance.
The ancient example of this principle is murder, and the best modern example you can come up with is some obscure BYU rule?

If so, methinks your quandary is small.

Speaking of small quandries, the "methinks" should be at the end.

Common mistake amongst Bard novices.

I can never hear anyone say "methinks" and not have Dr. Tobias Fünke be called to mind. In other words, I think is silly and pretentious no matter whose mouth it comes out of.

I adore this innate ability I apparently possess to completely derail a thread with so little effort.

Ah, the POWER!

I think of the Cheers episode wherein Woody corrects Diane by saying, "Excuse me Miss Chambers, but shouldnt it be 'I Thinks?'"
