My wife has a master's degree from Wash U.

Of course she is also an Obama supporter so her "advanced degree" doesn't seem to have given her the ability to think rationally.

Cardiac and Creek, I say this while needling, but partly serious, it will be interesting to see if your daughters are active in the church as adults.

That's not likely to happen any time soon, so we're not too worried.

I'm not too worried about my daughters (at least my 6-year old daughter, the other is only 18 months old). My 6-year old daughter is an extreme goody-goody and very religious.

It's my sons I'm more concerned about-- they display zero interest in anything related to religion -- I think MPC was the same way.

You know, if I had ventured a guess as to which Guarder would become obsessed with that story, I wouldn't have gone with Mike. But you know, I've heard that often people fit a certain tight pattern, and then they break out of the pattern, come out of character, so to speak. And that is when the true person comes out.

My wife has a Masters in Special Ed. She got it at 35. She just started her 9th year of teaching.

My 16 year old wants to be a special ed. teacher just like her mom. She also just got her Young Womens Medallion two weeks ago. She is going to go to BYU-H.

My 10 year old wants to be a special ed. teahcer just like her mom also.

My wife is going to get a PhD when the youngest daughter graduates high school.

My daughters church activity in the future wont be dependent on a working mother. As with any type of agency...it will be by there own choosing.

That's awesome. Special Ed teachers are the best. I haven't met one yet who wasn't completely dedicated to her kids.

I bet the % of women is much, much lower, whom are active.

A lot of bright, highly educated people here. Very few wives with advanced degrees.
I can think of several women like this in my ward. I have no idea what the overall percentage is in the church, nor even in my ward.

It seems you are asking two things: first, what percentage of active women have these degrees, and second, what percentage of women who seek these degrees then drop out.

Are you suggesting a correlation between the degree and dropping our or between being the kind of women who seeks the degree and the kind of woman who drops out?

One more thing, and probably an aside--it seems like master's degrees are becoming much more mainstream. Almost like the bachelor's degree of a generation or two ago. Not that they don't count, but I'm not sure they are worth what they used to be, especially depending on the subject.
