I agree 100% it is an amazing thing. As someone who is in an interracial marriage and has a bi-racial child it is pretty cool to witness. My 90 year old grandma was at my house tonight and she cried as she watched. My grandma is old school and still uses terms liked "colored" but she said to me that the first friend she ever remembered was african american, she worked on their farm in Minnesota, she told me that her brother fell in a horse trough and almost drowned and this lady saved him. Her family essentially adopted her at the time eventhough they were heavily persecuted for it. She said I may not believe in everything Obama stands for but this is truly a great day in American History.

Good to hear it. We can't have hope lingering in her for something will never be.

Hope the Cougars make it to the BCS, now there's something worth hoping for.

Wow this board is full of miserable Mormons right now. Truth is my religious convictions and prophecy in the scriptures will be more apparent in 10 years and I don't think it matters who the President was or will be. To be honest I really don't even think it matters now. A near end full of misery and despair are inevitable anyway - I just want to enjoy the little things right now. Let me geez.

Gidg, honey, you're being far too reasonable right now. Either weep, wail, and gnash your teeth, or commence the gloating. Your choice.

Thank you for validating my optimism. Thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed both candidates speaches tonight and was moved. This IS very historic and AMAZING.

P.S. I love how I (caucasian) am married to a multi-cultural husband who is more white than I am.

to me race politics is boring. it will be historic when a non-white is elected and nobody mentions his or her color.

i see a man with horrible economic policy, no color. I see Biden the same way. But then society is a salad, disconnected and discontinuous.

Actually electing an AA is the first step towards people not mentioning color in the future.

Do you honestly believe anyone could possibly do worse than Bush? Remember we had a budget surplus when he took over.
