I only really remember being spanked one or two times, but I'm sure I deserved it.
I avoided several because we had a Puerto Rican kid in our neighborhood who we could blame for everything. It helped us that he had older brothers who were in constant trouble with the law. I don't spank kids. I rarely ground them. I deny them privileges and planned events. My oldest boy didn't get to go to Lagoon for a friend's birthday last summer because he decided to show disrespect for his mother a day or two before the day of fun. He was ticked, but has never been disrespectful since.

I was spanked several times.
I used to get even more angry when my Dad spanked me, so to get back at him I decided the next time I got spanked that instead of crying I was going to laugh out loud as long and as hard as I could until the spanking stopped. I remember that the harder he spanked me, the harder I laughed, and he'd start spanking me harder and it got ratcheted up, til I think he realized what he was doing. It worked. He never spanked me again after that.

I was spanked a few times. Once with a belt and two other times with a wooden spoon.
It was wrong and I won't do it.
