How could he be on academic suspension a few weeks into the semester? And how could he be in bad academic standing and unable to transfer to another D1 school, if he's not even halfway through his first semester? |

If he was playing back up to Howard
because of skill level, not sure this is that big of a loss.

He isn't the only player transferring after
this season.

If you're going to be that demanding of your players, it isn't surprising there are going to be a few players who can't or won't live up to those very high expectations.

If you are not a good fit at BYU, you just aren't a good fit. That isn't any reason to beat up the kid or the University.
From purely a football perspective, it is to bad. |

It's not his first semester. He's a redshirt freshman and has been enrolled in school since Fall Semester of 07'.

It is a good question though. The team would have known before now (or a month ago) if Pittman had problems academically from a previous semester. What happened this semester to get him in trouble that he couldn't fix?

Maybe something like Tonga. Schooling became unimportant. The desire to be on the football team did not outweigh whatever it was that was making keeping up in school not that important.

Let's just say that Bronco has done a good job of protecting the kid from the mullahs and I'll leave it at that.
