We have a kid in our ward who was your classic Emo kid (yes I had to look it up after all the other kids started calling him one). All black clothes, all the time. Even black eye liner. Heavily into his music. We all know the type.

One day I show up to a ward party at the lake and there is new preppy kid there. Short, well-kept hair, nice jeans, button up shirt, no make-up, the works. It took several passes to realize this was the same kid. Unrecognizable, even though I had just seen him a couple of days earlier. He said he just decided that he no longer liked that music and was tired of wearing girls jeans (but aren't we all).

He was always a good kid. But overnight he went from being a fathers worst nightmare to a guy that girls love to take home and show off to their mom. You never know.

So you like him as a son-in-law now?

Yep, I was thinking the same thing when I typed that post. I was actually thinking it was dodgeball at first, but that would have made sense to dodge the ball in that game. It was indeed a volleyball that he shrieking and hiding from.

My 4 year old daughter is already spoken for, and my 6 year old son is to be married to SteelBlue's five year old daughter. After a mission, of course.
