You seem to use the same insults a lot.

Small vocabulary?

Not to spoil the thread by going back to the original topic (sorry lingo I'll call you a fag later if you want).

The whole "can't be rehabilitated" part worries me. It's kind of like the same sex attraction thing. There is a confilct in my mind. On one hand I believe that thru Christ we can overcome all and put all things "beneath our feet." This includes desires and addictions. So we should try to rehabilitate them and give them a chance.

On the other hand is the practical reality that few if any will ever be able to overcome these urges in this life. So we should protect the young and innocent by removing these pervs from society.

There is no good answer.

I always wonder about the "Scarlet Letter" treatment. Tatoo a big sign that says PERV on their forehead. Would that work?

DHU should we do this for every crime? If the crimes are sexually violent then they are put away for a long time. I am just interested why everybody wants to subject sex offenders to punishment above and beyond that which is required by law?
I don't like pedophiles, but the death penalty? Where do you draw that line? Is it for statutory rape? Or is that just castration?

Pedophiles are the worst people on the planet. I say execute them because the world would be a better place without them.

I said "remove from society." Not kill... The death penalty is a debate unto itself. I don't know what to do about pervs and I don't know what to do about the death penalty. On these topics I don't seem to be able to find a way to articulate my point of view. Perhaps it is because I don't know what my point of view is.

Sorry, I was kind of addressing that to you, but also to the rest of the board. I agree that some sort of removal is a good thing. But I also think that when an individual does the time for their particular crime that they deserve to be let free. I am not entirely sure why pedophiles should be treated any differently. OTOH I have a six year old daughter and I would like for her to be safe. All these tradeoffs....
