Billy Bob fills out a little report at the end of his day. Yeah, I bet that's scientific.

I don't care if Billy Bob has to take off his shoes to count the grouse in a lek. The numbers are the numbers and the numbers are going up.

How dare you disparage the brave men and women of the Wyoming Game & Fish.

Conservation Status

Populations declining; has disappeared from a number of states and provinces.

But the state of Wyoming, non-scientifically, says numbers are up?

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

That page relies on pre-1999 numbers where, due to drought, sage grouse numbers were down. Starting in 1999 and continuing through the present the numbers have rebounded to, and surpassed, pre-drought levels. It's been a wet couple of years, I expect the numbers will be up even more this year.

That's funny. Drillers think that having a well on every 10 acres of federal land won't have impact on wildlife.

Screw the drillers!

Yes. Well sort of, it was our lobbyist.

Indeed. Screw the driller. Screw all those who make your cushy academic life possible. Screw those whose product brought about the Green Revolution feeding millions of starving people around the world. Screw those whose product allowed for new drugs, clean water, cheap transportation. Screw those who provide for the very way of life we now enjoy. Screw them right to hell.
